“Urgent Chrome Update: Restart Now to Fix Security Flaw”

Chrome users are advised to promptly restart their browser after Google issued a crucial security update to address a significant vulnerability. The update, aimed at fixing a security flaw within Google’s web browsing software, carries high importance as it addresses a concerning issue with a “zero-day” rating, indicating active exploitation by hackers.

Google confirmed the existence of an exploit for CVE-2025-6554, emphasizing the severity of the situation. Discovered by Clément Lecigne of Google’s Threat Analysis Group, the vulnerability exposes Chrome to potential attacks like arbitrary code execution, posing risks of data breaches and system compromise.

The recommended versions are 138.0.7204.96/.97 for Windows, 138.0.7204.92/.93 for Mac, and 138.0.7204.92 for Linux. Users with older versions should immediately restart their browsers to apply the necessary updates.
