David Malukas set the pace with the quickest lap time during the practice session at the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy in Markham. He clocked in at 1:14.194 in the afternoon training session, leading the field. The qualifying round is scheduled for later in the day.
Following Malukas, Alex Palou secured the second-best time with a lap time of 1:14.560, while Dennis Hauger took the third spot with a time of 1:14.592 navigating the Markham downtown road course.
The first day of track sessions was called off by organizers due to incomplete course construction and pending safety inspections. This year marks the debut of the race in Markham, having relocated from Toronto’s Exhibition Place where it had been held since its inception in 1986.
Earlier in the day, Palou topped the charts in the morning practice session with a time of 1:14.9915, showcasing strong performance ahead of the upcoming events.
