Max Parker, a former Emmerdale actor, has surprised his followers by displaying authoritative behavior in a recent promotion of his upcoming TV venture. The 33-year-old soap opera star is set to appear in the new Netflix comedy-drama series “Boots.”
The show, consisting of eight episodes, is inspired by Greg Cope White’s memoir, “The Pink Marine,” and centers around the character Cameron Cope, portrayed by “13 Reasons Why” actor Miles Heizer. Max, known for his role on ITV, takes on the character of Sergeant Robert “Bobby” Sullivan, depicted barking orders at new recruits in the official trailer.
In anticipation of the series, set to premiere on Netflix on October 9, attentive viewers have noted a scene where Max removes his shirt, adding a touch of allure to the show. Having recently tied the knot with fellow Emmerdale star Kris Mochrie, the actor has generated excitement among fans for the upcoming project.
Engaging his audience on Instagram, Max has actively promoted the series by sharing the trailer on his profile. Encouraging fans to tune in, he captioned the post with: “LISTEN UP RECRUITS!!! Here’s the trailer for our new show #BOOTS. GET READY FOR OCT 9 only on @netflix.”
Enthusiastic responses flooded in from fans, with one expressing eagerness: “CAN NOT WAIT to see this! Congratulations!” Another fan chimed in, labeling the trailer as “fantastic” accompanied by clapping hands emojis.
In a recent interview with Hunger Magazine, Max delved into how his personal experiences influenced his portrayal in the series. He candidly shared, “I did put a lot of stuff from my own personal life into this thing… He’s searching for something… He’s lost, but he’s also got this anger that he’s getting out into the world in ways that he doesn’t necessarily mean to.”
Reflecting on his intensive physical preparation for the role, Max recounted undergoing rigorous military training in New Orleans to embody the role of a drill instructor. His dedication to authenticity led him to push his limits and immerse himself in the world of Marines.
Max’s commitment to his character was also acknowledged by co-star Miles, who commended Max’s transformation on-screen, contrasting it with his real-life persona. He described Max as intense and intimidating, showcasing a remarkable departure from his off-screen demeanor.
“Boots,” created by Andy Parker and directed by Peter Hoar, features a stellar cast including Vera Farmiga. The highly anticipated drama series is scheduled for release on Netflix on October 9.
