Shein has once again launched a temporary store on London’s busy Oxford Street following its successful stint in 2023. The store will be operational only until the end of today, Sunday, September 28, having opened its doors on Friday. Local fans now have the opportunity to physically browse and purchase items instead of waiting for delivery.
Angelina, known as @angelina.pj on TikTok, visited the store to assess its offerings. Despite a 15-minute queue to enter, she found it tolerable given the excitement surrounding the opening. Inside, she and her sister explored various clothing items, starting with the jewelry section. Angelina mentioned that the jewelry mainly featured gold pieces, which didn’t align with her preference for silver.
She expressed satisfaction with the broad selection of clothes, including coats, dresses, and gym wear. However, she was surprised by some item prices, finding them higher than expected. For instance, a coat priced at £70 caught her off guard. She highlighted Shein’s reputation for affordability and reliable customer reviews that help buyers make informed decisions.
Although initially taken aback by the pricing, Angelina noted a 30% discount on certain items, making the jacket cost £49. She also enjoyed a unique claw machine inside the store and managed to retrieve two scrunchies from a ball obtained through the machine.
While Angelina found the store a bit crowded and smaller than anticipated, she appreciated the free photo booth as a fun way to end her visit. Some viewers expressed disbelief at the prices discussed in Angelina’s video, with one suggesting a possible collaboration with Missguided could justify the higher prices.
The temporary physical space of the store led some to understand the higher costs due to overheads and operational expenses. Despite mixed reactions on pricing, some shoppers highlighted the perks of shopping in-person, such as the ability to feel the material and find the right size immediately.
