Wetherspoon kicks off its January Sale today in 600 of its pubs, offering a pint of beer starting at just 99p. The discounted drinks lineup includes Worthington’s beer for 99p per pint, Coldwater Creek wine at £2.99 for a 250ml glass, Johnnie Walker Black Label (25ml with mixer) for £1.99, and Tanqueray gin (25ml with mixer) also for £1.99.
The sale extends to a variety of low-alcohol and alcohol-free beverages, such as Guinness 0.0, Corona Cero, Brewdog Punk AF, Stella Artois Alcohol Free, Erdinger Isotonic, Thatchers zero, Koppaberg Alcohol Free, and Gordons 0.0 pink gin, each priced at £1.69. Additionally, Beck’s Blue and Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa will be available for 99p each.
Food discounts are also on offer at Wetherspoon, with options like an 11-inch Margherita pizza or a chicken burger with chips for £4.99 including a soft drink, or £6.52 with an alcoholic beverage.
For those craving jacket potatoes, there’s a choice of six fillings for £4.99 with a soft drink, or £6.52 with an alcoholic drink. Customers can opt for extras like an additional filling or side salad for 99p. New gourmet jacket potatoes are introduced, priced at £6.49 with a soft drink and £8.02 with an alcoholic drink, featuring loaded spuds with various toppings like cheese, maple-cured bacon, garlic butter, sour cream, chilli bean non-carne, guacamole, tortilla chips, sliced chillies, and more.
Wetherspoon’s founder and chairman, Tim Martin, explained that the January Sale idea was inspired by traditional retail sales in January. The pub chain aims to cater to diverse tastes with its discounted food and drinks range, including a wide selection of low and non-alcoholic beverages. The January Sale is expected to be well-received by customers, with the staff ensuring responsible service throughout the promotion.
The sale will be active in 600 pubs from January 2, starting a day later in Scotland, and will run until January 15. Prices may vary at Wetherspoon’s other 200 locations.
