A man from Liverpool who journeyed to Morocco early last month has not been in contact with his family since, causing worry among his relatives. Peter Forrest, hailing from Old Swan, departed for Marrakesh on September 5 with intentions of permanently settling in the country.
His niece, Olivia Barton, aged 23, has made a desperate plea for any information on his whereabouts after he vanished. Olivia disclosed that the last communication they had with the 53-year-old was on September 20, with herself, her mother, and Peter’s son, Ben, being the main points of contact within the family.
“We’re extremely concerned. It’s unlike him to be out of touch with us,” she expressed. Peter’s final Facebook update was on September 14, and Merseyside Police confirmed receiving a missing person report on September 26.
Olivia and her family have turned to social media to circulate appeals, describing Peter as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. A report has also been lodged with the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, with inquiries being made to the government department for comment.
“We’re spreading the appeal widely in case someone has interacted with him without our knowledge. We just want reassurance that he is safe,” Olivia added.
