Apple has unveiled its latest smartphone, the iPhone 17e, offering significant enhancements at an affordable price point. Priced at £599, the device boasts a speedy A19 processor, MagSafe charging, durable construction, and an impressive single-lens camera, making it £200 cheaper than the flagship iPhone model.
Apart from Apple’s new release, Samsung has confirmed the launch of its budget-friendly A57 and A37 models, starting at just £399. While these Samsung phones may not match the performance and advanced charging capabilities of the iPhone 17e, they do feature a 6.7-inch screen with 120Hz technology, providing smoother navigation compared to the 60Hz display on the iPhone.
The Galaxy A57 and A37 come equipped with substantial 5,000mAh batteries, triple lens cameras, and a design that offers P68 water and dust resistance. Samsung has integrated various smart features into these devices, including Google’s Circle to Search for quick web searches and enhanced photo editing tools like Object Eraser, Best Face, and Edit Suggestions for effortless photo enhancement and sharing.
Moreover, the new Voice Transcription feature in the Voice Recorder app allows users to transcribe or translate call recordings swiftly, enabling easy access to essential information from various conversations and meetings. Samsung has also committed to providing long-term support for the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G, promising up to six generations of Android OS and One UI updates, along with six years of security patches.
Both models will be available for purchase on Samsung.com starting April 10th, with the Galaxy A57 5G priced from £529 and the Galaxy A37 5G starting at £399. The Galaxy A57 5G will be offered in Awesome Navy, Awesome Grey, Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac colors, while the Galaxy A37 5G will come in Awesome Lavender, Awesome Charcoal, Awesome Greygreen, and Awesome White options.
Annika Bizon, VP of Product and Marketing at Samsung’s Mobile Experience (MX) Division, emphasized the importance of making AI accessible to more users and highlighted the practical benefits of AI in everyday performance with the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G models.
