“UK Woman’s Dental Nightmare in Turkey: Urgent Warning”

Date:

A woman is urging people to avoid undergoing dental procedures in Turkey after her traumatic experience resulted in a serious illness and damage to her nose. Leanne Abeyance is struggling with ongoing pain in her mouth and nose, along with breathing difficulties, following a flesh-eating virus she contracted during a dental treatment known as ‘Turkey Teeth’.

Living in Telford, Shropshire, the 41-year-old faced additional complications such as a collapsed septum due to the dental work, which the NHS declined to address, considering it a cosmetic issue. Despite spending over £3,000 on the initial treatment, Leanne had to invest another £2,000 in private dental work to alleviate her suffering.

Contrary to popular belief that veneers provide a lifelong solution, Leanne’s ‘Turkey Teeth’ procedure in 2009 initially seemed like a positive change. However, her veneer fell out during an outing at the Grand National last year, leading to subsequent dental challenges.

During a follow-up appointment in Turkey, Leanne discovered that her gums required additional procedures like a bone graft and sinus lift to support the dental work. Despite feeling uncomfortable during the tooth extraction process, she proceeded with the treatment.

Shortly afterward, Leanne experienced complications with her temporary teeth, leading to constant breakage and discomfort. Subsequent infections and nose-related issues escalated, eventually revealing that the implants were causing severe health problems. Diagnosed with a necrotizing fasciitis infection, Leanne faced multiple hospitalizations and antibiotic treatments, with limited success in managing her condition.

Seeking a resolution, Leanne is advocating for awareness of the risks associated with overseas dental treatments and is actively fundraising for corrective surgery through a Go Fund Me page. Despite facing financial strain and health challenges, she remains resolute in her quest for a pain-free future and is determined to find a surgeon who can address her complex dental issues.

The cautionary tale serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of seeking cosmetic procedures abroad, emphasizing the importance of thorough research and understanding the risks involved. Opting for private surgery to address her deteriorating health, Leanne is determined to overcome the consequences of her ill-fated dental experience.
