Fans are shying away from Jake Paul’s contentious bout against Gervonta Davis as ticket prices have been cut in half. The duo is scheduled to face off in Miami on November 14 in an exhibition match. Criticism has surrounded the event due to the significant weight difference between the fighters, with Paul typically competing at cruiserweight and Davis at lightweight.
The rules for the upcoming 10-round exhibition were clarified by Nakisa Bidarian from Most Valuable Promotions, specifying a maximum weight limit of 195lb and the use of 12-ounce gloves. Despite the details, fan interest seems tepid, reflected in the reduced ticket prices just over two weeks before the fight. Viagogo’s cheapest tickets were priced at £139 ($186), marking a notable drop in costs.
Ticket prices have fluctuated significantly, with ringside seats reaching as high as £4,043 ($5,413) and the cheapest tickets on StubHub priced at £131 ($223). As of October 30, Ticketmaster’s prices range from £69.58 ($91.50) for standard admission to £22,807 ($30,000) for the Diamond VIP Package.
The anticipated fight promises exciting moments, with Jake Paul expressing his eagerness to deliver a knockout performance for the fans. Davis, on the other hand, emphasized his speed advantage and strategy against Paul. The event is set to take place at the Kaseya Center in Florida on November 14, with exact fight times to be announced closer to the date.
Streaming platform Netflix will broadcast the fight, available to subscribers across various payment plans. Netflix subscription options vary from £5.99 to £18.99 per month.
