Black Sheep, a renowned coffee chain based in the UK, has introduced its festive Christmas menu. I had the opportunity to attend a special wreath-making event to preview the menu. The Christmas menu, launched on Wednesday, November 5, by Black Sheep, is filled with bold flavors, comforting winter treats, and refreshing options.
Among the new offerings that caught my attention was the Mint White Chocolate Chip Matcha, particularly the iced variation. This unique creation blends fresh mint with creamy white chocolate, adding a festive twist to the traditional matcha drink. The result is a smooth, sweet, and slightly cheeky beverage that stood out as my favorite from the selection.
Despite not being a die-hard matcha enthusiast, I found this rendition to be exceptionally enjoyable. Its balanced sweetness effectively counteracts the usual bitterness of matcha, creating a delightful experience. The drink’s resemblance to a Grasshopper cocktail, known for its minty flavors, was a pleasant surprise.
Next on my tasting journey was the Gingerbread Latte, a quintessential Christmas delight that instantly put me in a festive mood. This classic beverage, available in both hot and iced versions, combines warming spices and sweet gingerbread syrup with velvety espresso for a nostalgic winter treat. The rich coffee flavor, complemented by the perfect blend of spices and sweetness, topped with whipped cream, made it a truly indulgent choice for the season.
Another unexpected addition to the menu was the Fuji Apple, Ginger & Caramel Red Bull Infusion, launched in celebration of bonfire night. This innovative drink reimagines the traditional toffee apple in a delightful liquid form, combining juicy Fuji apple, fiery ginger, sweet caramel, and Red Bull for an energizing concoction that promises to power you through the chaos of the holiday season.
In addition to the beverages, we sampled the Pigs in Blanket Ciabatta and Brie & Cranberry Toastie sandwiches. While tasty, these offerings felt standard for a coffee chain’s food selection, not standing out as much as the drinks did. However, the exceptional quality of the coffee and the creativity displayed in the drink options make Black Sheep a must-visit this holiday season.
