Sharing her travel experiences and tips from Thailand on her TikTok account @claudia. louise, w, Claudia noted: “It surprises me to see people requesting free upgrades on flights when there’s a much simpler way to get them without any embarrassment.”
She added: “My partner and I have flown business class and even first class multiple times. We have flown business class more than 10 times now, and we have never paid for it.
“We receive complimentary upgrades frequently, and in this video, I will explain how. We have traveled with Singapore Airlines, Emirates multiple times, Emirates first class, and also Qatar Airways.”
She acknowledges the challenge of going back to economy class after numerous upgraded trips but offers a straightforward method to consistently obtain upgrades. According to her guidance, obtaining an Amex credit card is crucial.
In a viral video with over 369,000 views, Claudia explains: “We use American Express, specifically the gold card. By accumulating points, even upon initial signup with bonus offers ranging from 20,000 to 30,000 points, you can secure a business-class upgrade for just 40,000 points.”
Claudia further stated: “This means you only pay the economy fare and then utilize your points for an upgrade. You can use the card for expenses, trip bookings, or any other purchases to accumulate points throughout the year for your next business-class upgrade.”
Addressing concerns about the financial feasibility in the comments, she clarified: “It’s essentially free because I’m accumulating points from regular spending (so no extra costs incurred).”
