A traveler flying with Ryanair recently shared a mishap where she found herself far from her intended destination. Anastasia, aged 23, took to social media to recount her experience, hoping to prevent others from making the same error.
In a video, she disclosed that while en route to Brussels with Ryanair, she realized a startling fact about her journey. Despite a smooth flight, the surprise awaited her upon arrival at the destination she selected, and the reason behind it was unexpected.
Despite her passion for travel, Anastasia discovered she was miles away from the city, leading to significant inconvenience. This incident adds to a series of recent travel mishaps reported by others.
Anastasia shared a clip of her trip with a caption that read: “When Ryanair says you’re flying to Brussels without mentioning the airport is 60km away from the city,” which equals slightly over 37 miles.
Although she admitted fault for not verifying beforehand, the oversight caused travel disruptions. It serves as a reminder to conduct thorough research prior to embarking on a journey.
The video garnered over 11,000 views, sparking various comments from viewers. Opinions varied among commentators, with some attributing the mistake to Anastasia and others highlighting the confusion caused by airport names.
For those unaware, Brussels operates two major airports: Brussels Airport (BRU) in Zaventem and Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) in Charleroi. While Brussels Airport is closer to the city center and serves as the primary international hub, Charleroi Airport, located farther south, is commonly used by budget airlines.
Ryanair’s website promotes Brussels as an excellent city break destination year-round, detailing the best times to visit and the advantages of each season. The airline has been contacted for further input.
