Sky has introduced a new feature called Device Priority for its internet users in the UK. This upgrade allows customers to have more control over the internet speeds allocated to each of their devices. With Device Priority, users can ensure that important devices, like laptops for work, receive optimal speeds even when other devices, such as gaming consoles, are active on the network.
By prioritizing specific devices, users can maximize their WiFi experience for activities like working from home, streaming in 4K, or gaming. This feature aims to address the increasing number of connected devices in households, which can lead to network congestion. Device Priority ensures that the prioritized device receives the best performance, reducing conflicts and potential arguments over internet access.
Sky has made Device Priority available to users subscribed to its WiFi Max service at no additional cost. Users can access this feature through the MySky App, where they can prioritize a device for up to 8 hours. This enhancement joins other features of Sky Broadband’s WiFi Max service, including the WiFi guarantee, advanced security, parental controls, engineer visits, and Sky Mobile integration.
For those interested in adding this feature, it can be activated for a monthly fee of £4. This update aims to improve the overall user experience and provide more flexibility in managing internet usage within households.
