For the past four years, I have been consistently using Lush hair care products, sticking to my tried-and-tested favorites. My preferred choices include Big shampoo or Swell, paired with either Veganese or American Cream conditioner – a combination that took me some time to discover but one that I truly enjoy.
When I discovered that Lush had introduced a Snow Fairy shampoo on TikTok, I was intrigued. I was curious about its scent, whether it had glitter, and what effects it would have on my hair – maybe turn it pink?
Snow Fairy is one of the scents I adore from Lush, and whenever it’s available each year, I am among the first to get my hands on the new products. Recently, they launched the Super Fairy collection, a delightful fusion of Super Milk and Snow Fairy, which I am completely obsessed with.
Upon trying the shampoo, I found that it indeed smells quite similar to the spray, albeit slightly less sweet. However, what surprised me was its intense pigmentation – it genuinely resembled hair dye!
The product’s label cautions against leaving it on dry hair for too long as it may potentially dye the hair. This prospect excited me as someone who has never dyed their hair before.
There have been reports, like from Aimee on TikTok (@love_lushie), who shared that the Snow Fairy shampoo turned her bleached front money pieces pink after leaving it on for an hour. Results may vary, and the product’s intentional pigmentation requires thorough rinsing to prevent staining.
As I applied the glittery, bright pink shampoo, I was momentarily taken aback by its vibrant hue. Despite my initial apprehension, I proceeded to lather it into my hair, hoping for some color impact, although I knew it was unlikely due to my unbleached hair.
After rinsing, my shower smelled delightful, and my hair felt exceptionally clean. Transitioning from a salt shampoo to a more conventional one was a unique experience for me.
Although my hair didn’t turn pink as I had secretly hoped, I was satisfied with how refreshed it felt and the lingering pleasant aroma. The shampoo seemed to enhance the brightness of my hair, giving it a lighter appearance.
My ongoing assessment of the shampoo will include monitoring how quickly my hair gets greasy between washes, which will determine its place in my hair care routine. So far, I am impressed with the Snow Fairy shampoo – it leaves my hair clean, fresh, and fragrant.
If you’re tempted to try it out, a 100ml bottle is available for just £9. Don’t hesitate to experiment with it, and if you do end up with pink hair, I’d love to hear about your experience!
