“Introducing Boombites: UK’s New Superfruit Sensation!”

Date:

A unique fruit called Boombites, described as a ‘one-of-a-kind’ superfruit, is now available in UK supermarkets. These red berry grapes offer a surprising twist when you bite into them, revealing a deep, juicy red pulp similar to berries or cherries.

Exclusively launched at M&S and Ocado for £3 per punnet, Boombites boast antioxidant levels comparable to blueberries and triple the resveratrol content. Rich in anthocyanins, the same polyphenols found in popular superfoods like goji and cranberries, these grapes offer potential health benefits such as reduced inflammation, cell protection, and improved gut health.

Research indicates that red berry grapes may help regulate blood sugar levels due to their slow glucose uptake despite their natural sweetness, making them appealing to health-conscious fruit enthusiasts. These grapes are a cross between traditional white-fleshed table grapes and red-fleshed wine grape varieties, resulting from a meticulous breeding process.

Anthocyanins, the polyphenols in red berry grapes, have been associated with various health benefits including improved cholesterol levels, vascular function, and gut microbiome health. Boombites also contain resveratrol, another polyphenol known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, potentially contributing to health advantages like the “French paradox.”

Recent studies confirm that red berry grapes have higher levels of polyphenol antioxidants compared to standard grape varieties, with a unique ability to slow the absorption of natural sugars. This characteristic is attributed to their rich polyphenol and fiber content, making them stand out among other fruits in terms of blood sugar impact.

Dietitian Nichola Ludlam-Raine notes that the phenols in red berry grapes alter sugar absorption in the gut, which could have significant implications for weight management, insulin response, and dietary advice regarding fruit consumption. The abundance of polyphenols in red berry grapes has been linked to a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease through mechanisms like decreased oxidative stress and inflammation, as well as improvements in blood cholesterol and vascular function.

Dr. Emma Derbyshire praises the red berry grape for its potential health benefits, unique appearance, and delicious taste, urging individuals to experience its qualities by taking a bite.
