Like its neighbor to the south, Canada’s real estate market is expected to see continued growth in 2021, particularly in the luxury sector. In Toronto, an emerging global hub, residential sales of $5 million or more have increased by more than 8% year-over-year, while sales of $2 million or more have increased by about 10%. In March, the average price of a home was nearly $1.1 million, according to the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board.
In this week’s look at the world’s finest homes, I compared properties in Toronto against similarly priced properties near Vero Beach, Florida, and New York City. From a contemporary residence in the heart of West Village to a custom home on the exclusive Old Colony Road, here’s a closer look at what about $6.2 million buys in Hutchinson Island, Manhattan and Toronto.

This Greenwich Lane condominium in the heart of West Village has been renovated from top to bottom and features a tasteful mix of high ceilings, wide-plank floors and artful fixtures. The unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms in more than 1,500 square feet of living space.
