“Discover Cornwall’s Coastal Charm: Influencer’s Road Trip Guide”

Date:

A social media influencer has recently shared a comprehensive guide to discovering the picturesque coastline of Cornwall, highlighting seven charming towns situated along the county’s coast. Char, who manages the TikTok account CJ Explores with her partner Cory, has meticulously outlined a week-long road trip itinerary through North Cornwall in a video that has sparked interest among both locals and tourists.

Their suggested route, dubbed the “Cornwall road trip you must experience at least once in your lifetime,” features a unique town or village to explore each day of the week. Commencing from Boscastle, the journey meanders through stunning locations such as Tintagel and Mother Ivey’s Bay before culminating in Newquay. Day two of the itinerary includes a recommended stop at Tintagel, followed by visits to Port Isaac and Padstow.

The adventure further unfolds with visits to Mother Ivey’s Bay, Constantine Bay, and Bedruthan Steps, leading to their final destination. Viewers have eagerly saved these travel recommendations, with many expressing admiration for Cornwall’s undeniable allure.

One follower fondly recollected: “I was fortunate to visit Cornwall every weekend as a child with my parents, and it remains one of the most breathtaking places I’ve been to.” Another individual indicated having recently traveled the same route, sharing: “Just completed the journey on my motorcycle with my son. It truly is a beautiful part of the world.”

While some viewers suggested additional noteworthy sites like St Michael’s Mount and Kynance Cove, there has been a consensus among commentators regarding a specific location highlighted by Char and Cory. One viewer bluntly remarked: “Avoid visiting Padstow,” echoing sentiments shared by others who found the area overly crowded.

Despite some acknowledging Padstow’s charm, local residents are noticeably frustrated by the town’s growing popularity, which has led to a housing crisis. The influx of tourists has inflated property prices and transformed properties into holiday rentals, with reports from March indicating that the average house price in Padstow is nearly £700,000.

This issue of overtourism affecting Padstow is not unique to the town but is a prevalent concern across Cornwall. There are fears that Padstow could become a deserted village during the offseason, with properties remaining unoccupied as they are predominantly owned by tourists who utilize them as second homes during the warmer months.
