Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to appear together in public soon to accept a prestigious award for their charitable efforts. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will journey to New York City in October to be honored with the Humanitarians of the Year Award by Project Healthy Minds. This recognition highlights their advocacy to enhance online safety for families and youth.
As reported by People magazine, the couple will receive the award at the organization’s World Mental Health Day Gala on October 9, followed by another engagement in the city the next day. On October 10, they will participate in Project Healthy Minds’ annual World Mental Health Day Festival, where their Archewell Foundation will collaborate on discussions with leaders in the mental health field.
In a statement to the press, Harry and Meghan expressed their dedication to supporting online safety for families and young individuals, emphasizing the importance of their work. The couple, motivated by their children Archie and Lilibet, founded The Parent’s Network through their Archewell Foundation to assist families affected by online harm.
Additionally, the Archewell Foundation’s Lost Screen Memorial, unveiled in New York earlier this year, will be exhibited at the festival. This memorial pays tribute to children who have suffered due to social media-related issues. The Sussexes will also attend a private vigil at the memorial site during their visit.
The trip to New York follows the couple’s recent public appearance at the One805LIVE! Concert in California, where they supported fundraising efforts for mental wellness programs. Harry and Meghan took the stage at the event, with Harry presenting an award to a local fire chief.
The couple’s commitment to online safety and mental health awareness continues to be a significant focus of their philanthropic endeavors, reflecting their dedication to making a positive impact in these areas.
