“Urgent: Chrome Users Warned of Zero-Day Threat”

Google Chrome users are urged to promptly restart their browsers following the recent release of an update by the tech giant. The update addresses a bug present in the widely-used web browser. This release is considered urgent and has been labeled as a “zero-day” threat, indicating that hackers are actively exploiting the issue.

Google has acknowledged the existence of an exploit for CVE-2025-5419 and has advised users to ensure their browsers are fully up to date by checking the settings and relaunching if necessary. The recommended Chrome version for Mac and Windows PC users is 137.0.7151.68/.69.

The Stable channel update to version 137.0.7151.68/.69 for Windows and Mac, and 137.0.7151.68 for Linux, will be rolled out gradually in the upcoming days or weeks, according to Google. The CVE-2025-5419 problem, identified as an “out of bounds read and write in V8,” was reported by Clement Lecigne and Benoît Sevens from Google Threat Analysis Group.
