“Russian Advisors Discuss Nuclear Strikes on UK Cities”

Date:

Vladimir Putin has received a warning from a counterpart about the possibility of launching nuclear missiles across the UK. An advisor named Sergei Karaganov, known as ‘Professor Doomsday,’ proposed these alarming plans. Karaganov, as the honorary chairman of the Russian Council for Foreign and Defence Policy, has the authority to advocate extreme measures to prevent conflicts between the US and Russia.

In another development, TV personality Vladimir Solovyov, who supports nuclear strikes, made a controversial statement on a TV program suggesting bombing Oxford and Cambridge to eliminate the elite British population and their prestigious universities. Despite the unlikely scenario of Russia initiating a nuclear war against the UK, the potential impact on the UK’s towns and cities is concerning.

A tool known as the Nuke Map on NuclearSecrecy.com provides estimates of nuclear weapon damage. Created by Alex Wellerstein, a science and nuclear weapons professor, the Nuke Map includes simulations of an 800-kiloton nuclear explosion, similar to those in Russia’s arsenal.

According to predictions, a nuclear strike on Cambridge would result in catastrophic damage, with a fireball covering a radius of 2.97km squared, affecting areas like Grantchester, Milton, Teversham, and the Cambridge University campus. The Nuke Map explains that the impact on the ground depends on the detonation height and that anything within the fireball radius is vaporized.

The map delineates different zones of damage, including a ‘moderate blast damage radius’ where buildings collapse and fires break out. Further out, the ‘third zone’ would experience severe burns, disability, and potential amputations. The outermost zone, the light blast damage radius, could still cause injuries from the pressure wave traveling faster than sound.

Similar devastation is predicted for Oxford, with the inner zone facing vaporization, including the Oxford University campus. The UK government emphasizes the role of its nuclear deterrent in protecting national security and ensuring peace, underscoring the importance of nuclear deterrence in safeguarding the UK and its allies.

Since 1969, the Royal Navy has maintained continuous at-sea deterrence with nuclear-armed ballistic missile submarines patrolling undetected, ready to respond to threats. This strategy aims to preserve peace, prevent coercion, and deter aggression effectively and affordably.
